Amanda Hartland
Amanda’s artwork is created using a technique called appliqué (applying fabric on to another piece of fabric) and free motion machine embroidery, which is drawing with your sewing machine, using your machine needle as a pencil. Paints are then added for skies, seas and shading.
“I’m fortunate to have found my lifelong passion, which is creating machine embroidered art pieces. I hope you enjoy them just as much as I had the pleasure of creating them!”
Amanda is inspired mostly by nature and the coast. She takes her camera everywhere she goes, always looking for that special shot and seeing how she can create her own interpretation of an image through thread.
